So, You Think You Want to Be a Guide Rider?

We often get asked what it’s like to work as a guide rider at our events. On paper, it sounds like the dream - ride some brilliant bikes, chat to customers, get paid. And yes, those are definite perks.

But there’s more to it than just throwing on your lid and heading out for a spin.

Our guide riders play a crucial role in making sure our events run safely, smoothly and professionally. They’re the ones customers ride with, learn from, and remember. They’re part of a close-knit team that sets the tone for the day - on and off the bike.

Whether you’re thinking about joining our rider pool or just curious about what the job actually involves, here’s what it takes to be a guide rider on our team.

What Do Our Guide Riders Do?

Our guide riders - both lead and tail - play a vital role in delivering safe, smooth and enjoyable motorcycle experiences. Whether positioned at the front or the back of the group, their responsibilities are shared and equally important.

Before the event even begins, our riders:

• Learn and recce the pre-planned route
• Help with event setup and bike preparation
• Conduct safety checks on the bikes – both before and after the ride
• Deliver safety briefings to customers and press ahead of their test ride

During the event, guide riders:

• Lead the group along a fixed route, ensuring all riders stay together and ride safely
• Support and monitor the group – whether you're at the front or tailing, you’re watching customer behaviour and maintaining good group dynamics
• Communicate clearly and calmly with the rest of the team, including event staff
• Represent the client’s brand through professional conduct and a passion for motorcycles

After each ride, they help with resetting for the next group, checking over the bikes, and often chatting with customers about the experience.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for riders who are:

• Experienced – minimum 5 years on the road
• Preferably IAM-certified or similar – advanced riding is a big plus, but not essential
• Racing/track/off-road experienced? That’s a bonus but, again, not essential
• Confident riding a range of motorcycle styles and sizes
• In possession of a UK Category A motorcycle licence (ideally clean, max 9 points)
• Professional, friendly and proactive – customer interaction is key
• Reliable, punctual and adaptable – events move fast
• Available for ad hoc weekend event work

We provide full briefings, event logistics support, and travel expenses where needed. You’ll work alongside a brilliant, down-to-earth team who love bikes, good coffee, and getting stuck into an event day.

Why We’re Making a Special Call for Female Riders

The motorcycling world is full of brilliant women, but they’re still underrepresented in event delivery roles like ours. We’re keen to change that. We want to offer more visible, paid opportunities to women in motorcycling -whether they come from an advanced riding, racing, or instructing background.

This is paid freelance work on an ad hoc basis, supporting some of the biggest motorcycle brands out there. It’s hard work but it’s also rewarding, exciting, and (most importantly) great fun.
