The brief was to create a one-day event for 20 top UK motorcycle journalists and key influencers, to test ride the new Gold Star and witness the return of such an iconic British brand.
We were responsible for planning and delivering all aspects of the event including delegate invites, venue finding, accommodation sourcing, riding waves, catering, route planning, H&S, photography and video, AV, staffing the live event, and providing lead and tail riders.
Taking place at Millbrook Proving Ground, in Bedfordshire, the format of the day ensured that each delegate got their own passing shots, tracking shots, pieces to camera, and that they went away with B-Roll footage and stills to use within their reviews. It was also important to provide them with plenty of riding time on the different terrains and courses that Millbrook provides.
As a result of this event, the coverage came pouring through, including making it to the front cover of the MCN and Geoff Hill from The Mirror said of the bike “I think I’ve fallen in love”.
We have been delivering up to 3 global press ride events per year for the last 6 years. Locations include the USA, Africa, and multiple European destinations such as Spain and Portugal.
Responsibilities included route planning, people logistics including flights and transfers, accommodation finding, venue finding, riding waves, management of photography and videography teams, management of the technical team and event crew, as well as organising professional lead and tail riders.
It was Gareth’s idea to introduce professional racers from the world of motorcycle racing to be lead and tail riders for the press.
With new models continually being released, there have been plenty of reveal events for us to organise over many years.
Venue locations include the Printworks London, London Excel, Design Museum London, and the Triumph Factory.
The setup includes delegate accommodation, product and people logistics, F&B, AV presentations and live entertainment.
The brief was to create an opportunity to review the previous 4 years sales and product development to the global dealer network and key suppliers. Bringing together dealers from across the globe to share the vision of what’s coming and to inspire dealers and key suppliers.
Taking place over 4 days at London Excel, the event consisted of an opening & closing plenary, gala dinner, expo, retail, delegate and crew accommodation, F&B, product and people logistics, breakout sessions, and live entertainment.
There were up to 1,500 delegates in attendance, with a phenomenal return on investment being £35m in product pre-orders.
A 2-day consumer event which took place at Gaydon Motor Museum.
The brief was to organise and deliver a consumer, family-friendly event for Triumph customers, fans, and stakeholders across the country. It included live entertainment, activities and games, demonstrations, stunt shows and celebrities from the world of motorcycle racing.
The event saw over 8,500 visitors attend and was heralded as a huge success by Triumph chiefs.
The brief was to create a brand-new event that would highlight Norfolk’s credentials as a birding and wildlife hotspot. The event was to include a programme of guest speakers, walks & talks, demonstrations, book signings, bird ringing, retail, and optics. Organised on behalf of the charity Pensthorpe Conservation Trust and raising funds for Norfolk Wildlife Trust, it required securing sponsors to help fund the event.
The outcome saw over 2,500 visitors attend the 2-day event, with the majority of them and the exhibitors keen to book for the following year (then COVID hit!). The guest speaker programme included over 20 specialist speakers including birding and wildlife legends Bill Oddie, Simon King OBE and Mike Dilger.
Sponsors included Cley Spy, Norfolk Country Cottages, and Wild Sounds & Books.
The event gained national coverage in The Telegraph, The Observer, The Guardian, Waitrose Magazine, Country Life, Discover Wildlife and The Sun.
“Gareth has a great ability to understand what the attendees are looking for. He has selected some of the best accommodation, routes and destinations I’ve ridden a motorcycle in. The professional, highly skilled team of riders he has at his disposal adds something extra to the events, whilst adding an extra level of safety and security.
The organisation of the whole event is at the highest level and is, without question, a premium experience.”
“Triumph launches have always been up there among the best for me, simply because they offer everything I need to get the job done…and fast. That’s all down to Gareth and his team. Logistics are perfectly arranged, technical info is readily available and pictures and video are delivered quickly. The riding days, on some of the best roads in southern Europe, are well judged and paced with enough time on to properly assess the bike.”
“Jo’s planning and organising of the Bird & Wildlife Fair made it a premium, first-rate event that considered everything a birding & wildlife enthusiast could wish for. As the main sponsor we felt very looked after. The live days were meticulously planned, every detail was thought about, and our return on investment made the event hugely worthwhile, both from our optics sales and for getting our name out through the national PR coverage.”
“Gareth has produced some of the most fluid press launch experiences out there, nothing is left out. What impresses me more than anything else is the dedication and relationships he has with his team. The same smiling faces welcome us time after time, which tells me that behind the scenes, Gareth works as hard as he does when he’s front of house. If you’re going to trust someone you don’t know to look after you, your bike and your kit on a foreign trip, trust that he’s the right man for the job.”
"Organizing global press rides in the motorcycle industry is no small feat. It takes meticulous planning, a dedicated team of professionals, and attention to detail that will not only result in an amazing experience for participants, but excellent content and high levels of safety.
Working with Gareth and his crew has always delivered on those crucial points, ensuring that the job is done right from start to finish."
“I’ve attended dozens of events in the UK, Europe and North Africa, that have been organised, planned and managed by Gareth.
Each one has been implemented in a professional and friendly manner and, from a journalistic point of view, I’ve never left one of his launches feeling that the location, roads, hotel, pictures, or video could have been improved.”
